RAK Logistics CEO Joins Middle East Liner Shipping Conference in Madinat Jumeirah Dubai do discuss how can carriers tailor services for Middle East requirements.
As industry challenges in the Middle East become more significant with increasing port capacities as well as introduction of Etihad Rail in conjunction with Khalifa Port to soon start operations, RAK logistics joins the elite industry experts to address impact and strategies of macro effects on the Middle East shipping economy. During the opening remarks at the conference Mr Majed Zambaraji CEO RAK Logistics said “There are $40bn expansion in new ports infrastructure to be invested by 2014 adding 10mln TEU capacity by 2014 from current 24 mln TEU, once an investment in port is done it must be utilized, ports will act as economic stimulants in the region ”. On the topic of shipping lines developments Mr Zambaraji noted “Ever larger ships are deployed by shipping lines to cut costs on arterial routes, larger ships imply consolidation of more different trade lanes into same services as well as hub and spoke model.
